PARK FALLS, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and Weather Shield Manufacturing have announced plans for an expansion of the Park Falls facility over the next three years.
Under an agreement announced on Thursday, the window and door building will invest $3.6 million to upgrade their plant, which is expected to create as many as 40 jobs. In exchange for that investment, WEDC has authorized up to $225,000 in state income tax credits over the next three years for the project. The actual number will be dependent on the number of jobs actually created.
According to a news release from both Weather Shield and WEDC the company will be increasing the production of a new line of windows and specialty patio doors aimed at large custom homes and premium hospitality customers.
The upgrades will include both equipment and employee training. In addition to the 40 jobs directly created by the investment, another 23 positions could be indirectly created around the Park Falls community.
If all 63 positions are created as projected it could lead to $106,579 in state income tax annually.
