WEST LAFAYETTE , IND (WSAU) — The Wisconsin men’s basketball team won their opener in the NCAA Tournament with an 85-62 thrashing of North Carolina on Friday night.
Brad Davison led the way with 29 points and D’Mitrick Trice added 21. Wisconsin hit 13 of 27 three pointers and out-rebounded the bigger Tar Heels 37-34.
Wisconsin had stumbled into the tournament having lost four of five, all against ranked teams.
