MERRILL, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Sheriff’s officials in Lincoln County are on the lookout for two suspects that were involved in an early-morning chase that began at a Merrill storage unit.
Thursday morning around 1 a.m. the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department became involved in a pursuit after a patrol deputy located three suspicious-looking vehicles at a storage unit in Merrill.
The deputy who located the vehicles pursued one of them after they fled the storage unit. Other deputies were advised of the two other vehicles. One of the other vehicles was located and a second pursuit ensued. Both of the car pursuits ended within the Merrill City limits where drivers exited their vehicles and fled on foot.
One person has been arrested, a 36-year-old Merrill man who is facing charges of felony fleeing, bail jumping, and a probation hold. Two other suspects remain at large. All three vehicles from the pursuits have been located and are being held as evidence.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
