MARYVALE AZ (WSAU) — Milwaukee starter Corbin Burnes looked sharp in his final tuneup of the spring as the Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-1 on Sunday in Cactus League play.
Burnes gave up one run and three hits through five innings with nine strikeouts. Brent Suter added two scoreless innings in the seven inning contest.
Avisail Garcia hit a three run homer in the Brewers four run first inning. Orlando Arcia, Jackie Bradley Jr, Christian Yelich and Jacob Nottingham also had RBIs.
The Brewers finished the Arizona part of spring training at 13-11 with two ties. They play games tonight and tomorrow in Arlington Texas vs the Rangers.
Opening day is Thursday at American Family Field vs Minnesota.
