WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — It’s become a running conversation and speculation piece in the Wausau area.
When, or if will Red Lobster come to town?
For a brief moment on Thursday drivers headed down Schofield Avenue in Weston may have thought those dreams would soon become reality. However, a quick glance at the calendar would have dashed those dreams.
A sign reading “Future Home of Red Lobster” was placed alongside some construction equipment in a lot.
But upon closer investigation, the fine print on the sight read “Franchise not yet applied for. This is an April Fool’s joke.”
Owners of Patriot Auto told WAOW TV that the lot will actually be their new shop, and not the seafood joint so many in the region have been craving for years.
