MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A Tomahawk man is now facing multiple charges of bail jumping and possession of meth in jail after an incident in the Town of Russell.
Officers say the incident began last Monday when some residents said they had interrupted a theft in progress in the Town of Merril. The suspect fled then pulled into an address along County Road J.
When officers confronted him, the suspect said it was his property and asked them to leave. A check of the address showed the property was owned by an out-of-state couple who said they did not know the man.
He was then arrested for a probation violation and taken to the Lincoln County jail. As he was being searched and processed, officers found a baggie that tested positive for meth in his possession.
He was then booked for two felony counts of bail jumping and one count of possession of methamphetamine with an enhancer for possession in jail. He was also cited for trespassing and driving on a suspended license.
