MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) — Brandon Woodruff gave up one run on three hits over six innings, but got a no-decision in the Brewers’ 3-2 loss to the Cubs in Milwaukee.
Luis Urias belted a two-run homer in the second for the Milwaukee runs.
Brent Suter surrendered a two-run homer to Wilson Contreras in the eighth to take the loss. Contreras had been beaned again earlier in the game which led to Cubs pitcher Ryan Terpera throwing at Woodruff when he came to the plate. That led to words being exchanged but no ejections.
The two teams play the rubber game of the series this afternoon. Pre-game show at 12:05 on WSAU.
