STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP baseball team split a doubleheader with Whitewater on Tuesday dropping game one 11-1 and taking the nightcap 7-3.
WIAC Athlete Of The Week Aaron Simmons had another five hit day including a home run in the first game. Bradley Comer got his 7th home run of the season.
Nick Carpenter picked up the win with 5 innings of work in game two.
The Pointers, now 17-4, 12-2 in conference, will face the Warhawks again in a DH on Friday in Whitewater.
The UWSP softball team dropped a doubleheader with UW-Whitewater on Tuesday, 7-4 and 8-3.
Becca Geiyer had a four hit day, scored three runs and had two stolen bases. Lauren Luedtke had three hits including a home run. Sara Trasel and Rachael Wakefield also had home runs.
The Pointers, now 15-10, 2-4 in conference, will host a DH with UW-Oshkosh on Thursday.
