I get choked up every time I watch this 2-minute video of the impassioned plea of a Georgia mom addressing her local school board. I can only imagine how difficult it is to be a parent of young children today. The struggles that parents face in light of the government’s overreach and overreaction to a virus with a survivability rate of over 99% have got to be even more challenging for parents of schoolchildren. Particularly because the data shows that children aren’t spreaders of the China virus.
If my children were still in school, I’d stand right alongside this mom, be an advocate for my children and fight for their mental and physical health. The political theater that we’ve all endured over this past year must end. This is why in Wausau and around the state and country, the recent school board elections were a referendum on the horrible decisions that were made by those elected officials who did not have children’s best interests at heart.
Let this be a lesson to all: Americans don’t like to have their freedoms trampled on and stripped away from them. Conservatives: Get involved locally – this is where we have the most power!
