ANTIGO, WI (WSAU) — One person is in custody following an early morning incident at Antigo Middle School.
According to a release from the Antigo Police Department, officers were called to Antigo Middle School Monday morning at 6:15 along with the Langlade County Sheriff’s Department. Officers were there due to a report of suspicious circumstances and alarms activated at the school.
With the Antigo School custodial staff, officers and deputies searched the building. In the search of the building, they found some damage and noticing some missing items as well.
A suspect was identified by officers, deputies, and school staff. The suspect was found and detained around 7:15 a.m. at a location away from the school grounds. The suspect was then taken into custody.
The suspect has not been named at this time. Before the school day, the incident was resolved, leaving no threat to students or staff at Antigo Middle School.
