MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU-WDLB) — Like many school districts, students in Marshfield will have to keep wearing masks and other face coverings through the end of the current school year.
Superintendent Dr. Ryan Christianson also told the Board of Education Wednesday night that includes all staff members and school visitors. He also said the requirement would extend into summer school, but with a few exceptions. “We’re considering some exceptions for outside. We’re going to review that at our June board meeting, because we have one more meeting before summer school begins.”
Both the Wisconsin Rapids and Wausau School Districts also decided this week to keep their mask mandates in place for the remainder of the school year. Masks will become optional in the Wausau schools once summer school begins.
Christianson also said the district is still planning to hold an in-person, outdoor graduation ceremony later this month. Marshfield High School graduation ceremonies are set for Saturday, May 29th at 11 a.m.
