STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Wausau West grad Payton Nelson had himself a day as the UWSP baseball team swept a doubleheader from UW-Platteville on Wednesday. The scores were 14-9 and 13-3.
Nelson went 8-10 in the DH with three home runs, two doubles, six runs scored and seven RBIs.
Kyle Finger, Tommy Duddleston,Matt Baumann, Bradley Comer, Quin Henwood and Jacob Lilge all had three hit days for the Pointers.
Casey Pickering and Nick Carpenter picked up the wins.
The Pointers close out the regular season with a DH at Platteville on Saturday.
The UWSP softball team plays in the WIAC Tournament semi-finals at Whitewater this afternoon at 2pm
