WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Multiple felony charges have been filed against a man accused of fatally stabbing a woman.
Prosecutors have filed 5 charges against 43-year-old David Morris. Those charges include 1st-degree intentional homicide, false imprisonment, 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, and resisting or obstructing an officer. All of the charges come with a repeat modifier. A handful of the charges also include a domestic abuse or use of a dangerous weapon modifier.
Morris is accused of fatally stabbing Renee Hindes inside a Weston apartment on April 23rd. Authorities arrived on the scene early that morning on reports of a woman needing help. Authorities say when they got there they were confronted by Morris who allegedly had a weapon. Police then fired at Morris, he was taken to the hospital and was last said to be in stable condition.

An investigation into the incident is still being conducted by the DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation. No court date has been set for Morris but a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
