MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — With Luis Urias struggling at the shortstop position so far this season the Milwaukee Brewers swung a trade for a veteran to fill the void.
Milwaukee acquired Willy Adames and pitcher Trevor Richards from Tampa Bay in exchange for pitchers JP Feyereisen and Drew Rasmussen.
Adames is only 25 and has been a proven defensive commodity for the last four seasons. He also brings playoff experience and has a career .254 batting avg with 43 homers and 124 RBIs over the four seasons.
Urias will move to a super-utility role and will fill in at various positions.
Richards is expected to pitch out of the bullpen for Milwaukee.
