MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — A 26-point, 18 rebound outing from Giannis Antetokounmpo and a game-winning jumper from Khris Middleton helped the Bucks to a 109-107 overtime win over Miami in Game One of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series Saturday.
Middleton finished with a game-high 27 points. He added six rebounds and six assists as well.
Jrue Holiday added 20 points and 11 rebounds. Brook Lopez chipped in 18 points.
Duncan Robinson led the Heat with 24 points. Goran Dragic added 25 off the bench.
Antetokounmpo didn’t have his best day at the free-throw line, especially late in the contest where he went just 2-5 and was whistled for a ten-second violation that kept him from getting another opportunity.
The game was truly a toss-up with 17 lead changes and 16 ties over the 53 minutes of regulation and OT. Neither side lead by more than four points in the 4th quarter and OT.
Listed attendance for Saturday’s game was 9,107- the largest crowd of the season so far at Fiserv Forum. The Bucks and Milwaukee County Health Department announced two weeks ago that capacity at the arena would jump to 50% for the playoffs. Crowds will reportedly get even larger when the series shifts to Miami where local health officials say as many as 17,000 could pack American Airlines Arena.
Milwaukee takes a 1-0 series lead into game two on Monday. You can hear the contest on 93.9 The Game.
