WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Community Development Authority has authorized an RFP process for the former Kraft Cleaners site at 303 and 305 S 2nd Avenue.
Interim City Economic Development Director Brad Lenz said the .14 acre parcel which is currently owned by the CDA will be offered up to developers in the usual proposal process with any ideas welcome.
“It’s a fairly quick RFP that follows the city’s bid procedures for disposing of property,” said Lenz during Tuesday’s meeting. “Besides just price, we can look at the potential use of the property plus the experience of the developer or landowner who’s proposing and make a decision from there.”
Tuesday’s vote was unanimous. RFP’s will be accepted through July 26th and will be opened by the CDA the next day. Chair Andy Witt said the committee looks forward to seeing the proposals and ideas for the lot, which has sat vacant for several years.
