WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A library system will reopen all its doors for the first time in almost 15 months this week.
Tuesday, June 1st the Marathon County Public Library will be reopening all nine of its locations to the public. The reopening date was approved two weeks ago by the Marathon County Public Library Board of Trustees during their monthly meeting.
On June 1st all MCPL locations will return to pre-pandemic hours of operation. Drive-thru curbside service will still be offered by MCPL at its Wausau and Marathon City locations. Limited curbside pickup hours will also be offered at MCPL’s Athens, Edgar, Hatley, Mosinee Rothschild, Spencer, and Stratford locations. Patrons can call their preferred location for curbside hours and availability.
MCPL locations will return to full service on Tuesday but will have an occupancy limit of 25% at each branch. The library is also asking for patrons who have not been fully vaccinated to wear a face mask when visiting and to stay at a distance of 6 feet between other individuals.
