MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Pittsburgh Pirate pitchers issued 11 walks on Friday night, including six in the 7th inning, and the Milwaukee Brewers picked up a 7-4 win at American Family Field.
The Brewers took advantage of that wildness by scoring five runs in the 7th inning to break open a 2-2 tie. Three of those walks came with the bases loaded.
Christian Yelich had a two run double in that big 7th inning. Jackie Bradley Jr had two RBIs as well. Brandon Woodruff picked up the win going 7 innings and giving up two runs. Josh Hader pitched the 9th for his 15th save.
The Brewers have now seven of their last eight games and 12 of their last 14. They remain tied with the Chicago Cubs for first place in the Central Division.
They will face the Pirates again this afternoon… pre game at 2:35 on WSAU.
