MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Christian Yelich and Omar Narvaez each recorded two hits to lead Milwaukee to a 7-4 win over Pittsburgh Saturday at American Family Field.
The duo did most of their damage in the 4th inning where Milwaukee struck for five runs to go ahead for good in the game. Yelich brought home three of those runs on a bases-clearing double. He later scored on a ground-rule double by Willy Adams.
That brought up Narvaez who singled to center to cap off the inning.
Narvaez also recorded an RBI base hit in the 3rd to score Yelich.
Corbin Burns was roughed up in the start through 4 innings. He allowed eight hits and four runs (two earned) but did manage eight strikeouts. Reliever Trevor Richards picked up the win as he stopped the bleeding over two innings, allowing just one hit.
Josh Hader covered the 9th for his 16th save of the season.
With the win, Milwaukee stays atop the NL Central in a first-place tie with the Chicago Cubs. Game three of the series against Pittsburgh is this afternoon with coverage starting at 12:35 on WSAU.
