WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Marathon County Community COVID-19 Vaccine site at Northcentral Technical College is winding down its hours beginning this week.
Hours for the community vacation site this week will be:
- Tuesday, June 15: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 16: CLOSED
- Thursday, June 17: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Friday, June 18: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Saturday, June 19: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Additionally, the Wausau site will start offering the single-shot Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to residents, which does not require a second booster shot.
The Department of Health Services announced Monday that all statewide community sits will be closed additional days per week, with exact times varying by location. The state opened a handful of community vaccination sites to improve access to vaccines in locations like Wausau, La Crosse, Barron, and Rock County.
DHS officials say those sites administered a combined 83,000 doses of vaccine.
While the locations are ramping down efforts, there are still numerous ways for those that haven’t been vaccinated to get access. That includes shots from pharmacies, local healthcare providers, and pop-up clinics at places like Churches, barbershops, schools, and other community-based organizations.
