WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Lincoln County man has entered pleas to a sexual assault case.
Joseph Damico, 21, was in Marathon County Circut Court Thursday afternoon for a preliminary hearing. At the hearing, Damico entered not guilty pleas to charges of 2nd-degree sexual assault of a mentally ill victim and 2nd-degree sexual assault of a treatment facility resident.
The charges stem from a May incident where Damico is accused of sexually assaulting a group home resident after being pantsed by the resident.

At the hearing, Damico and his lawyer also requested a new judge. If convicted, Damico faces up to 40 years in prison for the charges. No further court date was scheduled at that time.
