WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Residents that ordered rain barrels will be able to pick them up this weekend.
According to a Facebook post, the rain barrels ordered by Wausau residents in the spring will be available for pickup Saturday, June 26th. The barrels will be available for pickup between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at 1701 N. River Drive, just north of Bridge St.
The rain barrels are part of the city’s rain collection program that was approved in April of 2021. The barrels help residents both save money on their water bills and reduce strain on the city’s stormwater infrastructure.

Rain barrel pickup will be a drive-through event at the site on N. River Drive. Resident’s name and the purchase will be verified before a city employee will load the barrel into a vehicle. The City does recommend that drivers stay inside their vehicles.
