WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — It started as a routine traffic stop for the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, but turned into a large-scale drug bust before it was over.
According to a Facebook post officers initiated a vehicle for a moving violation Monday night. Officers say they can’t share all the details just yet, but the traffic stop quickly became a drug bust, which then turned into an even bigger drug bust.
A total of four people were arrested in the incident. Officers ended up seizing nearly a half-pound of meth, 14 grams of heroin, and 17 grams of marijuana. The combined street value of the drugs is said to be nearly $10,000.
The department credits the night crew and K9 Officer Kubo for their work in the incident.
It’s unclear when any further details may be released.
