WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The body of a 63-year-old Wausau man was found on Sunday in the Wisconsin River.
Sheriff’s officers say a fisherman near Gilbert Park found the body of Jim Dolphin at around 9:30 AM.
Friends and family told WAOW TV that Dolphin’s boat was found capsized on the Wisconsin River north of Wausau on Thursday. Crews spent much of the weekend searching the river for him, but rough waters and debris from last week’s storm made the search difficult.
It’s believed that Dolphin was trying to fish along the river in the Village of Maine when strong waives overturned his boat.
