MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — It didn’t take long for Eduardo Escobar to make his presence felt for the Milwaukee Brewers. He had a triple, and a three run homer with 4 RBIs in Milwaukee’s 6-2 win over Pittsburgh on Monday night at American Family Field. He also walked twice in his first game before the home fans in Milwaukee.
Kolten Wong and Tyrone Taylor had the other RBI’s for the Brewers. Eric Lauer pitched five innings of three hit scoreless baseball for the win. Brent Suter and Daniel Norris followed with 3 scoreless innings before John Axford faltered in the 9th. The newest Brewer, celebrating his return to the majors, gave up two runs in 1/3 of an inning before Bard Boxberger finished up for his 4th save.
Milwaukee is now 64-43, and are now up 7 1/2 games on the Reds. The Brewers and Pirates face off again tonight with Adrian Houser facing Max Kranick. Pre game show at 6:35 on WSAU.
