WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Three people have been charged after police found illegal drugs and a stolen firearm in a Wausau apartment alongside some unexpected pets.
Behind bars are 27-year-old Desmond Mayo, 31-year-old JD West, and 36-year-old Crishawn West. All three are accused of being in possession of various drugs including cocaine, heroine, and marijuana.
Officers first discovered the drugs when Mayo was arrested for domestic charges in late July while in possession of several baggies of cocaine. That led them to the Wests, who were found to have even more of the drugs in an apartment and a rented pickup along with a hotel room that was in JD’s name.
Officers also found a snapping turtle and alligator in the apartment along with a stolen handgun that was hidden in a child’s pack and play.
All three are being held on bond. Chrishawn West and Mayo will return to court on August 9th.
