MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — Authorities in Lincoln County have identified the man suspected of starting multiple fires at a home in the Town of Russell.
Aaron Bauman appeared in court Friday morning where a judge ordered him to be held on a $100,000 bond. He’s suspected of starting multiple fires outside a neighbor’s home Thursday morning.
The homeowners were home at the time. Police say they were able to get out of the building and saw a man trying to set another fire near one of their vehicles, but he ran off after he was seen. A K9 officer led them to Bauman’s home, where he was arrested.
Further court action against Bauman is pending. Authorities haven’t announced a possible motive for the incident.
