STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The city of Stevens Point has announced they will take applications from residents in District 1 who are interested in serving on the City Council for the next few months.
On Thursday the council decided to temporarily fill the vacancy through an interview process. Interested candidates are encouraged to fill out an application with the city followed by an interview process with the 10 other Alders on the council. They will then select one candidate through a vote amongst themselves.
The winning candidate will then serve until April 2022 when they will have the option to run for re-election.
The vacancy comes after Tori Jennings announced her resignation from the board following four years of service to the district. The City Council has not set a date for interviews and selection.
