PLOVER, WI (WSAU-WAOW) There was a structure fire on Friday night in the Boston School Forest.
The land is owned by the Stevens Point Area School District.
A spokesperson said the fire happened in a “non-educational structure in the school forest.” The building was used as a residence by a district employee who lives on-site. The building suffered substantial damage.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire isn’t known.
According to the district’s website, the forest is used to “provide the youth of Stevens Point Area Public School District educational opportunities that foster personal growth as well as awareness, knowledge and appreciation of the natural world leading to sound stewardship of the earth.”
