
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WSAU) — Lorenzo Cain homered for the second straight day and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Francisco Giants 5-2 on Wednesday night.
Cain was 2-3 in the game with two runs scored and three RBIs. Jace Peterson and Willy Adames drove in the other runs.
Brewer starter Brett Anderson had to leave the game after two innings. He was hit in the shoulder by a line drive. Milwaukee used seven pitchers to get through the game with Daniel Norris picking up the win and Josh Hader getting his 29th save.
The Brewers are now 82-52 and will face the Giants this afternoon…pre game show at 2:10 on WSAU.
Milwaukee also made some roster moves on Wednesday.
They signed former Brewer Keon Broxton to a minor league deal. He gives the team some outfield depth and is eligible for postseason play if needed.
Daniel Vogelbach was re-instated from the 60 day IL. Angel Perdomo was moved from the 10 day to the 60 day IL and catcher Manny Pina went on the 10 day IL with left oblique tightness.
The Brewers also brought catcher Luke Maile and pitcher Justin Topa up from AAA Nashville
Injured infielder Eduardo Escobar is expected to come off the IL on Friday.
