MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — There’s another chance to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital this weekend.
Helene’s Hilltop Orchard outside Merrill will be hosting their annual Sunflower Experience on Saturday and Sunday. Olivia Telshow with Helene’s says the event is their way of helping out a great cause.
“Four years ago we came up with the idea that we need to help St. Jude,” said Telshow. “They do fabulous work and we are so proud to be able to open up our farm and use our talents [as farmers] and allow the public to come out and have a great day.”
Admission is $10, all of which will go to St. Jude. Telshow calls the event an agricultural experience that will include wagon rides and cow train rides. They’ve also added a handful of photo booths to allow families and groups to take photos together, including the popular sunflower backdrops.
“We set up six different booths with props for photo-opps. We expect to be number one on the Snapchat map this year with all the selfies of people out in the sunflower field,” she joked.
Hours for the event are 10 AM to 6 PM on both Saturday and Sunday at the orchard located at N1189 Quarter Rd in Merrill. The event will also feature food from the bakery and Helene’s apples.
Last weekend WDEZ hosted the 3rd annual Kickin’ it for the Kids kickball tournament, which also raises funds for St. Jude.
