MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Brandon Woodruff was shaky…Zack Wheeler was not. That was the difference as the Philadelphia Phillies rolled over the Brewers 12-0 on Monday afternoon at American Family Field.
Woodruff gave up three home runs in a game for the first time in his career. The Phillies hit six homers in the game including a grand slam from former Brewer Jean Segura off Daniel Norris. Brad Miller went deep twice.
Wheeler scattered five singles in six innings of work with six strikeouts and no walks.
The Brewers did not lose any ground as the Reds lost to the Cubs so Milwaukee’s magic number to clinch a playoff spot fell to 13.
The two teams play again tonight…pre game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
