ROSEMONT, IL (WSAU) — The long-awaited Big Ten men’s basketball schedule is here, completing the Badger’s hoops slate for the upcoming season.
As has become tradition, the Big Ten will open play in early December with each school playing two games. Wisconsin opens league play at home against Indiana on Dec 8th then at Ohio State three days later. Conference play will then resume on January 3rd and wrap up on March 6th.
We already knew most of the non-conference action Wisconsin would face this year, beginning October 29th with an exhibition against UW Whitewater. Regular season play starts Nov. 9th against St Francis of Brooklyn.
Notable non-conference action includes the Maui Jim Maui Invitational the week of Thanksgiving. UW-Green Bay comes to Madison on November 12th, Marquette comes calling on December 4th. The Badgers will also participate in this year’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge- drawing Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
Postseason play will begin as soon as March 9th with the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis. That wraps on Selection Sunday, March 13th.
The NCAA Tournament will then begin with the First Four on March 15th.
Milwaukee will serve as a host site for first and second-round games this year. The Midwest Regional is slated for Chicago, and the Final Four will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
