WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A quick-moving line of thunderstorms brought power outages to hundreds of customers in Central Wisconsin on Monday.
As of 9:30, WPS reported around 170 customers without power in Schofield, 480 in Stettin, 315 in Hamburg, and 150 in Rib Mountain. Just over 100 customers were without power in Wausau.
Other municipalities reported a few dozen outages including Easton, Mosinee, Marathon, Merril, and Minocqua. Stevens Point had just ten outages.
All told over 2,000 customers were in the dark as of the latest update from WPS. The estimated restore time for many of the outages was between 10:30 and 10:45 PM.
Anyone who has lost power is encouraged to report the outage to WPS. Should you happen upon any downed power lines or other damaged electrical infrastructure, stay at least 30 feet away and report it to law enforcement or WPS.
