STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) The UWSP volleyball team moved its win streak to nine in a row with a 3-0 victory over River Falls on Wednesday night.
Freshman Ashely Kopp and Sydney Mosinski combined for 29 kills and eight blocks. Emma Peterson had 19 digs. Katie Albrecht had 14 and Kelsie Belfiori added 10.
The Pointers, now 11-2 will host the Pointer Invitational this Friday and Saturday. Their first match is win Bethel on Friday at 3pm.
The UWSP womens soccer team dropped a 4-1 match at Carroll on Wednesday.
Kati Frierdich had the only Pointer goal in the 32nd minute that tied the game.
The Pointers, now 2-7, will play at St Norbert on Sunday.
The UWSP womens tennis team set a program record with their 12th match win of the season as they beat Lakeland 9-0 on Wednesday in Stevens Point.
Local players who won matches included Kaitlyn Hess from Wisconsin Rapids in singles and Emily Shipman of Medford in doubles.
The Pointers, now 12-0 on the season, will head to the ITA Midwest regional on Friday in Whitewater.
