WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau murder suspect has been deemed competent to stand trial.
Umberto Lo was in a Marathon County courtroom on Tuesday. Lo, appearing via video from the Marathon County Jail, told Judge Michael Moran he was incompetent.
However, after testimony from a doctor and the examination of four exhibits, Judge Moran found the 25-year-old competent for trial.
His next court appearance is set for December 21st. No trial dates have been set.

Lo is accused of shooting his former girlfriend, 30-year-old Mai Rue Vang, in her apartment. Vang had a no-contact order against Lo at the time he shot her.
