WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau-area man was in court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing after several bomb-making and explosive materials were found in his home.
Scott Ryan Jr. entered a not guilty plea to the charges, which came to light after a family member reported finding what appeared to be Molotov cocktails and other flammable liquids in his Town of Wausau home.
A judge then bound Ryan over for arraignment and trial at a later date. He returns to court on November 19th.
It’s unclear what Ryan may have been planning with the explosive materials.
The case against Ryan also includes multiple other cases that he’s been facing in Marathon County. That includes a December 2020 incident of disorderly conduct by use of a dangerous weapon. He’s also accused of a May 2021 incident that includes a separate charge of disorderly conduct by use of a dangerous weapon along with operating a firearm while intoxicated, carrying a concealed knife, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He also has multiple open counts of domestic abuse and bail jumping against him.
