WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Fundraising for a proposed four-seasons sports complex at the D. C. Everest School has kicked off through the Education Foundation.
The group is looking to bring in between $12-15 million to get the project going in the next year through private donations and business support.
The proposed facility could include a section of FieldTurf along with an interchangeable sports court for basketball, volleyball, tennis, or other indoor activities. Plans would also include making the facility available for other activities such as marching band.
“From band practice to camps, tournaments, games, batting practice, really anything that you can think of that could be on outdoor grass could come indoors,” Lindsey Lewitzke, member of the DC Everest Education Foundation, told WAOW TV.
School officials with D.C. Everest have emphasized that the plan is in its infancy and has not yet been finalized or approved. As it stands the foundation is handling all the fundraising, and there have been no plans to use district money for the facility.
Those interested in more information or who would like to donate can visit the Foundation’s website.
