WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Trig’s stores in the Wausau and Stevens Point area are about to come under the Festival Foods brand.
Skogen’s Festival Foods announced their intention to purchase the three stores from the T. A. Solberg Company for an undisclosed price.
The sale includes the Trig’s locations on S 17th Avenue in Wausau, Business Highway 51 in Weston, and Academy Avenue in Stevens Point off Division Street.
“There are a lot of similarities in vision and philosophy between the two companies,” said Skogen’s CEO Mark Skogen in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming the Trig’s associates and to becoming an active member of these great communities.”
Bob Jaskolski, president & CEO of T.A. Solberg Company, said his group looks forward to “continued growth” in the Northwoods and adds that the southern stores will be in good hands under the Festival brand.
With Friday’s news Festival now runs nearly 40 full-service supermarkets throughout Wisconsin.
Neither company commented on when the sale of the three stores would be completed, or when the stores will be rebranded. T. A. Solberg Company will continue to operate its other Trig’s locations in the Northwoods along with the Trig’s Smokehouse in Rhinelander and other entities such as Trig’s Ace Hardware, Caribou Coffee shops, and Northwoods Gourmet Snack Company.
