GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) It was reported on Friday that Green Bay Packer linebacker Za’Darius Smith underwent back surgery earlier this week and will miss extended time, possibly the entire season.
Smith, who injured his back during the off-season, has been battling the problem since training camp. He did play in the first game against New Orleans but was hut-down after that.
Smith will be paid most of his $17 million salary with the exception of his per-game roster bonus. He is due $15.75 million next season.
Smith has 26 sacks since signing a new deal back in 2019.
