NORTH ANDOVER, MA (WSAU) — The Wisconsin women’s hockey team did not give up a goal in 120 minutes of action against Merrimack College this weekend, scoring wins of 4-0 and 5-0 over the Warriors.
Massachusetts native Casey O’Brien led the way with three goals and two assists over the two games. Sarah Wozniewicz scored twice, once in each game. Makenna Webster also recorded one goal in each game- she also won the scoring title over the series thanks to five assists.
Kennedy Blair went the distance both days in net to solidify the shutouts. She made 16 saves on Friday and 13 on Saturday.
The wins marked the second and third consecutive shutouts for the Badgers after a 10-0 win over Lindenwood last week. In four games, Wisconsin has given up just one goal.
Wisconsin will begin WCHA play next weekend with a two-game set against St. Cloud State at LaBahn Arena. Games will be played Saturday and Sunday.
