I was wrong on the two biggest games of last week. I’ve been wrong about Wausau West all season; with their win over SPASH they’re in position to be conference co-champions. And Wisconsin Rapids arrived at Stiehm Stadium with a winning game-plan and came away with a victory.
This week’s picks:
Even with injuries, the D.C. Everest Evergreens are a better team than Hortonville. Everest is also bigger on both sides of the ball. There are no locks with Everest, but they’re the pick to win.
Wausau West hosts Appleton West is what could be a trap game. It isn’t. West won’t falter at home.
Marshfield vs. Wisconsin Rapids is almost always a competitive rivalry game. Rapids is the pick.
SPASH picked up a game against Hamilton-Sussex. The non-conference game is meaningless to the Panthers except for state playoff rankings. I think SPASH will lose tonight.
In other games:
Rhinelander over Merrill
Medford over Mosinee
Pacelli over Loyal
Wisconsin Dells over Tomahawk
