WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — GiGi’s Playhouse of Wausau has announced they’ve received a $50,000 grant from the Kraft Family Fund at the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin.
The grant will go towards expanding programs at the facility, which is aimed at providing space for those with Down Syndrome to develop skills and have a safe place to play from childhood through adulthood.
Leaders say they’ll use it expanded their program offerings including Cafe G Kitchen, a program that teaches nutrition and food preparation. Other funds will go to expanding communication programs and GiGiFIT, a group physical therapy program.
GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau opened in December of 2020 and is one of more than 50 Down Syndrome achievement centers throughout the US and Mexico.
