Robert Clinch
WAUPACA, WI (WSAU) — Officials in Waupaca have issued a statewide alert for a man who walked away from a group home Tuesday morning.
Robert Clinch was last seen at 9:30 AM when he stepped outside of his group home to smoke a cigarette. Leaders at the home say he didn’t return.
Clinch has been known to run off before, and the alert is being sent statewide because friends and family say he has gotten far away from home before being located.
He’s described as 5″07′, 180 pounds with long silver hair and brown eyes. He’s Native American and goes by the nickname “Chief.”
While his direction of travel was not known, he may be heading to the Baraboo area or New Mexico. He may have hitched a ride with someone as well, as the group home is located near a truck stop and a Kwik Trip.
Clinch was placed in the group home by a guardian, and he suffers from alcohol-induced dementia.
