LOS ANGELES, CA (MetroSource-WSAU) — The Dodgers are pushing the NLDS to a winner-take-all Game Five. Los Angeles exploded on offense as it beat the Giants 7-2 to even the series and stave off elimination in Los Angeles.
Mookie Betts and Will Smith each hit two-run homers for the Dodgers, who responded after getting shut out in Game Three. Walker Buehler allowed one run over four-and-a-third frames on short days rest.
The Giants used eight total pitchers on the mound after starter Anthony DeSclafani was chased out of the second inning. Kris Bryant had two hits and an RBI.
CHICAGO, ILL (MetroSource-WSAU) The Astros are going to their fifth-straight ALCS. Houston dispatched of the White Sox 10-1 in Game Four of the ALDS in Chicago.
Jose Altuve hit a three-run homer in the ninth to put the finishing touches on the game for the Astros. Michael Brantley and Carlos Correa each drove in two runs, and Yimi Garcia earned the win in relief. Houston will face the Red Sox in the ALCS.
Gavin Sheets homered for the White Sox in the loss. Carlos Rodon allowed two runs over two and two thirds innings to take the loss for Chicago, which bows out of the playoffs.
