STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Students who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 are now eligible to win a $7,000 scholarship according to the latest numbers released by the UW System.
Officials provided the latest numbers on Thursday, which also showed the Green Bay campus has hit the mark. That makes both UWSP and UWGB eligible for the drawings alongside seven others that had previously hit the 70% mark.
“I’m thrilled the students of UW-Stevens Point and UW-Green Bay are getting vaccinated,” said System President Tommy Thompson in a press release. “It’s quite an accomplishment, and a credit to all those on campus who helped achieve it.”
Each of those campuses will award 70 scholarships valued at $7,000 each to those that have been vaccinated through a random drawing.
As it stands just three campuses are not at the 70% mark. Those are Platteville, Superior, and Parkside. They have until October 31st to get to the 70% mark. If they don’t, the scholarships allotted to their campus will be evenly distributed to the others that did hit the mark.
