HOUSTON, TX (WSAU) — The Houston Astros are headed back to the World Series for the 3rd time in the last five years after beating Boston 5-0 on Friday night.
Rookie Luis Garcia gave up just one hit over 5 2/3 inning for the victory.
Yordan Alvarez of the Astros was named ALCS MVP after hitting .522 over the six games. His 12 hits tied for the most in a playoff series in Houston’s history.
After giving up 25 runs in the first three games, Astro pitchers allowed just three runs in the last three.
Houston will await the winner of the Atlanta-Los Angeles series which plays Game six tonight.
