WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (WSAU) — Braelon Allen scored two rushing touchdowns and Collin Larsh added three field goals to give Wisconsin a 30-13 win over #25 Purdue on Saturday in Big Ten play.
Allen opened the scoring with a 4-yard plunge to give the Badgers a 7-0 lead after one. Then in the second Larsh would hit two field goals while Purdue would also score twice, sending the game to halftime tied at 13.
The Wisconsin ground game took over in the second half as both Chez Mellusi and Allen recorded scoring runs and Larsh added another kick to seal the win.
QB Graham Mertz completed just five passes on the day for 52 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Mellusi led the offense with 149 rushing yards along with one reception for 11 yards. Allen added 140 rushing yards.
The win brings Wisconsin back above .500 on the season at 4-3. They’ll need two wins in their final two games to reach the magic number for bowl eligibility.
Wisconsin returns home next weekend to host Iowa for Homecoming 2021. Kickoff is at 11 AM, pregame coverage will begin at 9 AM following Making Financial Sense on WSAU.
