WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A former Wausau elementary school teacher has entered a not guilty plea to 20 counts of possession of child pornography.
Kristofor Edwards made the plea in a Marathon County courtroom on Wednesday. Charges in the case stem from a tip that Wausau Police received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding four images that were later tied to Edwards.
Further investigation tied Edwards to an email address and IP address linked with the images. The investigation began in July, and he was arrested in mid-August.
His next court appearance is scheduled for January 11th, 2022. In the meantime, he’s free on a signature bond.
Police say there’s no sign that Edwards had any compromising images of any Wausau School District students. He remains on leave from his job at Maine Elementary.
