POLONIA, WI (WAOW) — A former University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point professor is donating land he owns to the school
Milo Harpstead taught at UWSP’s College of Natural Resources for more than 30 years. Now that he’s fully retired, he’s giving more than 20 acres of land to UWSP. The land had already been used by students for years to study soil. Now it’s official school property.
“The fact that they have free run of digging as they choose and all those sort of things then that’s what I enjoy being able to help them achieve,” Harpstead said.
A dedication of the land, now called “Milo Acres,” took place Wednesday.
A sign has been put up near the property.
